WOW Wednesdays

All summer, TQT will be running demonstrations of new techniques and products that will WOW you. There will be special deals on products shown. Learn something new this summer!

Every Wednesday at 12:00 noon

AccuQuilt GO! Cutting System Demonstration

The cutting part of the quilting process is laborious and time consuming. You work hard to get the perfect cut – carefully measuring each piece, and enduring hand, arm and back strain as you cut multiple shapes.

Your rotary cutter requires you to pay close attention to the blade and ruler while cutting. Any slips of either can cause inaccurate cuts and wasted fabric.

You wish you could get to the sewing part faster…

Join Robert Hafner, VP of Sales & Marketing for AccuQuilt , as he demonstrates the GO! fabric cutting system. It will transform the way you prepare your fabric, appliqué shapes and even paper piecing templates.

Three sessions to choose from:

Thursday, September 7, 6pm-8pm

Friday, September 8, 10am-12pm

Friday, September 8, 2pm-4pm

Fee $10

Receive a certificate good for $10 towards your purchase of GO! Products with your registration

Color Confidence Workshop with Amy Walsh

The Quilter's Trunk is excited to host Amy Walsh of Blue Underground Studios for a fun and educational workshop. Participants in prior workshops rave about how much they learned! Don't miss your chance to take it this fall. Amy is here to de-mystify the color wheel and give you the confidence to play with color and expand your horizons when putting projects together.  What you learn can be applied not only to quilts, but to any project that involves color choice - painting your kitchen, selecting carpet for your den, picking shoes to match an outfit, you name it!

In this hands-on workshop, Amy will take students from exploring the color wheel to perfecting their own color palette and understanding how to make their own harmonious choices. The workshop consists of several lessons, with thought-provoking and fun activities. The workshop is a study in color, and does not involve any sewing. Lunch will be provided.
Saturday, September 16
10:00am – 3:00pm

Quilts and Human Rights Exhibit at the Pick Museum

Bus Trip

By popular demand, TQT has chartered a bus to see upcoming Quilts and Human Right Exhibit at the Pick Museum of Anthropology at Northern Illinois University. Laura McDowell Hopper, curator at the Pick Museum shared a sneak peak with us last month. It was fabulous, and we can't wait to see the full exhibit in person. In addition to the public exhibit, participants will be treated to a behind the scenes tour of their textile storage area.

The bus will depart from TQT at 9am. The first stop will be Egg Haven Cafe where participants can get brunch/lunch. Lunch is not included in the fee for the bus trip, so be sure to plan ahead. See the menu here:

After lunch, the bus will take us to the Pick Museum for the tours. Participants will have time to explore the museum on their own after the tour. The bus will then return to TQT by 6pm.

Friday, November 10

Fee: $49, which does not include lunch
