RETURN POLICIES

  • Returns may be made, as outlined below, within 30 days of purchase. A return will not be accepted if proof of purchase cannot be made.

  • Returns may be made in person, or via mail.

  • Unopened and unused Merchandise other than sewing machines may be returned for store credit. "Unopened" means that the contents have not been removed from its packaging, and all factory seals are unbroken. You are responsible for return shipping cost. The amount of your return will equal the net price of the merchandise and any sales tax paid. Original shipping costs (if any) will not be included in the value of the return.

  • Sewing machines purchased online may be returned for a refund only if they are unopened and unused. "Unopened" means that the contents have not been removed from its packaging, and all factory seals are unbroken. You are responsible for return shipping costs. A 25% restocking fee will apply to any returned sewing machine. Original shipping costs (if any) will not be included in the value of the return.

  • If you are unable to return your merchandise in person, call the shop at (773) 980-1100 to request Return Management Authorization (RMA) number. Include this number in any correspondence you may have with The Quilter’s Trunk regarding your return.

Non-returnable Items

  • Sewing machines purchased in store, except those models that are available to purchase online.

  • Any item without original factory box

  • All opened software and designs

  • Sew Steady extension tables

  • Special order items

Defective Merchandise

If you receive an item that is defective, notify us of the problem to arrange for a repair, replacement or item exchange.

Class & Special Event Policies

  • Class Registration Fees include the use of our classroom sewing machines, unless specified otherwise.

  • We accept payment of Registration Fees online, in person or over the phone (credit cards only over the phone).

  • Paying a Registration Fee is the only way you are guaranteed a spot in a class. Spots cannot be “held” without payment.

  • If a class or event is sold out, The Quilter’s Trunk will create a Wait List should there be cancellations. Names on the Wait List will be contacted in the order in which they appear until spots are filled.

  • Some classes charge a Kit Fee for materials. This is done to ensure all participants have the correct supplies, which makes the class more productive for students and the instructors.

  • If a class does not provide a Kit, we ask that students purchase their class supplies from The Quilter's Trunk. Students will receive a 10% discount on class supplies. Please purchase supplies prior to the start of a class so that you don’t miss class time acquiring supplies.

  • Often, we ask students to complete some pre-work before class. This generally includes basic cutting of fabric according to pattern instructions. Having the pre-work done before class allows the instructor to use class time for more involved instruction, and gives students a better chance of completing a project during class.

  • If you need to cancel a registration in a class or and event, you must give 7 days notice so that we have the opportunity to fill your spot. Refunds come in the form of a store credit.

  • No refunds will be given if a cancellation is requested less than 7 days before a class or event is scheduled or after a class has begun. The only exception is if we are able to fill your spot with another person. In that case, you will receive a refund of your Registration Fee in the form of store credit. There are no refunds of Kit Fees.

  • If you will be late for a class, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible to let us know. If a student shows up more than 30 minutes after the class has started, we reserve the right to ask that student to reschedule for another session out of consideration for the other students in the class.

  • If the starting time of a class or event coincides with the normal store opening time, The Quilter’s Trunk will open its doors 15 minutes prior to the start time.

  • If a class or event is cancelled by The Quilter’s Trunk, Registration Fees will be refunded.

  • Classes are geared towards participants 18 and over, unless specified otherwise. Please do not bring children or other guests to a class with you.

  • The Quilter's Trunk is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Be sure to label any items you bring to a class with identifying information.

  • Please turn off cell phones during class. Be courteous to the instructor and other students by taking or making calls/messages during breaks or outside the classroom.
