Charity Sewing Event for Comer Children's Hospital

Charity Sewing Event for Comer Children's Hospital

$0.00

Join us in-person to make both Pillowcases and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Scent Cloths for Comer Children's Hospital. Comer is a 172-bed (70 of which are NICU) pediatric acute care hospital adjacent to UChicago Medical Center.

Your support matters and the need is great! Due to the often emergent nature of a NICU admission, caregivers are immediately separated from their infants, disrupting the natural bonding period. Scent Cloths help with this process. Pillowcases brighten the rooms of young patients, 3 years and older.

TQT is providing the fabric, patterns and use of store sewing machines and sergers for this event. You just need to bring your enthusiasm! While all skill levels are welcome, this event is for ages 16+.

Space is limited, so secure your spot by registering. Walk-ins are welcome if not all registered spots are taken. Masks are required of all participants during this event.

Four 1-hour time slots are available on Wednesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 28. Register for whatever time slot works for you. You do not need to stay for the full hour.

We can accept donations of these items but they MUST come from smoke and pet free environments to protect these sensitive patients. Any donations will be laundered in hospital machines prior to going to recipients, so the finished products must be able to withstand high temperature washing. No flannel or embellishments, please.
