Our friends at Fabric Cafe have been writing very successful 3-Yard quilt patterns and books since 2008. In 2025, they published "Make It Home" - a collection of patterns than can be used to make home dec projects in addition to quilts. In each of the six 3-Yard Workshops this year, we will feature one of those patterns. We will teach you the fundamentals of the block or blocks used in the pattern and you'll make one in class. Then, we will discuss how to finish the various projects using the pattern - pillows, table runners, placemats or quilts - which you will do at home.
You can register for one or more Workshops. Each Workshop has a registration fee of $35, which includes the use of a classroom sewing machine.
Students must purchase the book "Make It Home" once. In addition, there is a required $36 materials fee for each Workshop to cover the 3 yards of fabric. Students may pick their own fabrics or opt for a kit chosen by the instructor. If you would like to choose your own fabrics, stop by the shop for fabric selection guidelines which will ensure your choices will be appropriate for the project. (Note: if you wish to use fabrics from your stash, you will still need to pay the materials fee. You can simply buy 3 yards of other fabric for another purpose.)
Skill Level: Confident Beginner - you must have completed Skill Builder: Basic Quilting, or similar, to participate.
