The idea for The Quilter's Trunk was born of the desire for a high quality sewing shop in our neighborhood. After nearly two years of planning, attending trade shows, visiting suppliers, managing renovations and telling everyone we knew that sewing and quilting are thriving art forms, The Quilter's Trunk opened for business in September 2015.
Our location is unique. TQT is committed to this great city we call home. We have more than 4,000 square feet of space, and our very own private parking lot - which is very rare in the city of Chicago!
We began with Baby Lock sewing machines and sergers then expanded our family to include BERNINA, Brother and Janome sewing machines. It’s all about choice - TQT has the perfect sewing machine, embroidery machine or serger for you! Our trusted technicians, John & Johnny Supan, have more than 30 years of experience servicing all makes and models of sewing machines. They are certified by Baby Lock, BERNINA, Brother and Janome.

TQT has been named as a Top Shop by Quilt Sampler magazine, and we were featured on the cover of the Spring/Summer 2020 issue.
We are here to offer inspiration, tools and advice to sewing enthusiasts and creators of all skill levels. At the same time, we are constantly inspired by our amazing, talented customers. The community we are part of is centered around support and creativity. It is an honor to serve this community, and sometimes we have to pinch ourselves because we are so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people!
Social Media Contests are published on our Facebook page on Thursday mornings, and are open for entries until 9am on Friday mornings.
Contest prizes vary and are stated when the contest is announced.
The Winner will be chosen randomly from all entries and will be announced on Facebook by close of business Friday.
Winner must pick up their prize in-store within 2 weeks of being notified or else prize is forfeited.
Prizes are not transferrable.
Prizes may not be exchanged for other products or merchandise.
A winner is not eligible to win again for 90 days, but may participate in the contest for fun.
Employees and family members of employees are not eligible for prizes.
Social Media Contests may be discontinued without notice.
