Color Confidence Workshop with Amy Walsh

The Quilter's Trunk is excited to host Amy Walsh of Blue Underground Studios for a fun and educational workshop. Participants in prior workshops rave about how much they learned! Don't miss your chance to take it this fall. Amy is here to de-mystify the color wheel and give you the confidence to play with color and expand your horizons when putting projects together.  What you learn can be applied not only to quilts, but to any project that involves color choice - painting your kitchen, selecting carpet for your den, picking shoes to match an outfit, you name it!

In this hands-on workshop, Amy will take students from exploring the color wheel to perfecting their own color palette and understanding how to make their own harmonious choices. The workshop consists of several lessons, with thought-provoking and fun activities. The workshop is a study in color, and does not involve any sewing. Lunch will be provided.

AccuQuilt GO! Cutting System Demonstration

The cutting part of the quilting process is laborious and time consuming. You work hard to get the perfect cut – carefully measuring each piece, and enduring hand, arm and back strain as you cut multiple shapes.

Your rotary cutter requires you to pay close attention to the blade and ruler while cutting. Any slips of either can cause inaccurate cuts and wasted fabric.

You wish you could get to the sewing part faster…

Join Robert Hafner, VP of Sales & Marketing for AccuQuilt , as he demonstrates the GO! fabric cutting system. It will transform the way you prepare your fabric, appliqué shapes and even paper piecing templates.

Three sessions to choose from:

Thursday, September 7, 6pm-8pm

Friday, September 8, 10am-12pm

Friday, September 8, 2pm-4pm

Fee $10

Receive a certificate good for $10 towards your purchase of GO! Products with your registration

Foot Notes: Sewing Machine Accessory Hands-On Class

Do you use your standard presser foot or ¼” quilt piecing foot for every sewing task? Does getting crazy mean breaking out your zipper foot? You might already have a dozen or more accessory feet, and there are many others you could add to your collection. Why do you need specialty feet anyway? Well, you wouldn’t stir your coffee with a ladle or serve spaghetti with an ice cream scoop because they are not the right tool for the job. The right presser foot can make all the difference. They will make you better at sewing and give your projects a more professional look. Plus, some feet are just plain fun to use!

Join Baby Lock Educator Sue Kostroski as she shows you what you can do with accessory feet. This is a hands-on class where you will stitch out samples using various feet and accessories. Your samples will be attached to pages and made into a handy reference book for use again and again!
